Setting Up a Custom Domain with Google Domains

This section provides a step-by-step guide to configure a custom domain using Google Domains. Learn how to connect your domain seamlessly for a professional and branded platform experience.

Prerequisites

  • A domain is pointed to a hosting provider.

  • Access to your Google Domains account.

Step 1: Log in to Google Domains

Step 2: Access Domain Management

  • Click on the My Service tab.

  • Navigate to Manage Services.

Step 3: Open Domain Overview

  • Go to the Domain Overview section.

  • Click on Domain Administration and select the domain you want to configure.

  • Click on the DNS tab and select DNS Records.

Step 4: Add a Record 

  • Access the DNS Management section of your domain.

  • Enter the following details

    • RecordType: CName

    • Name or Host: Your prefix of domain name (or) sub domain name eg, "app".mydomain.com

    • Value or Target: cname.voicemetrics.ai

    • Click Save to add your DNS. 

Notes:

  • SSL Configuration: It automatically generates an SSL certificate for your custom domain. If not, you may need to install one manually.

  • DNS Propagation Time: DNS updates can take up to 24 hours to reflect globally.

By completing these steps, your custom domain will be successfully configured using Google Domains.
