Setting Up a Custom Subdomain with cPanel

 This section provides step-by-step instructions to configure a custom subdomain using cPanel. Learn how to create and manage subdomains to enhance your platform's functionality.

Prerequisites

  • A domain pointed to a hosting provider with cPanel installed.

  • Access to your cPanel account.

Step 1: Log in to cPanel

  • Sign in to your cPanel account using your credentials.

Step 2: Access the Simple Zone Editor

  • Once logged in, navigate to the Simple Zone Editor section.

Step 3: Configure the Custom Domain

  • Navigate to Dashboard > Settings > Custom Domains.

  • Add your custom subdomain in the provided field.

Step 4: Add a Record

  • Access your domain hosting service’s DNS Management section.

  • Add the following DNS record details to your domain manager:

  • Enter the following details:

    • Record Type: CName

    • Name or Host: Your prefix of domain name (or) sub domain name eg, "app".mydomain.com

    • Value or Target: cname.voicemetrics.ai

    • Click Save to add your DNS.

Notes:

  • SSL Configuration: It automatically generates an SSL certificate for your custom domain. If not, you may need to install one manually.

  • DNS Propagation Time: DNS updates can take up to 24 hours to reflect globally.

Following these steps, your custom domain should be successfully configured using cPanel.
