Steps to Add and Verify a Custom Domain
This guide outlines the steps to add and verify a custom domain for branding your white-label AI voice software. A custom domain enhances the user experience by using your branding across the web.
Step 1: Choose Your Custom Domain
Select the domain you want to use for your white-label platform (e.g., app.mydomain.com).
Ensure you have access to the domain's DNS settings.
Step 2: Add the Custom Domain in the Agency Panel
Log in to the Agency Panel.
Navigate to the White Label > Custom Domain menu.
Enter your custom domain (e.g., app.mydomain.com).
Step 3: Update Your DNS Settings
Update your domain’s DNS records in your Domain or Host Provider (eg., GoDaddy, Cloudflare) to point to the destination DNS Record Value.
Follow the instructions in the "Add Your DNS Record" section of the admin Cpanel.
Example DNS Record:
Type: CNAME Record
Host: Your prefix of domain name (or) sub domain name eg., "app".mydomain.com.
Value: cname.voicemetrics.ai
Step 4: Verify the Domain
After updating the DNS records, go back to the Agency Panel.
Click "Save & Check Status" to verify the setup.
DNS verification may take a few minutes to 24 hours, depending on DNS propagation.
Step 5: Enable the Custom Domain
Once the domain is verified:
The domain status will show as "Verified" in the admin panel.
Your white-label platform will now be accessible via the custom domain.
Open the custom domain in a web browser to ensure it loads the application login page.
Log in to confirm the white-labeled application is working correctly.

Notes:
SSL Configuration: It automatically generates an SSL certificate for your custom domain. If not, you may need to install one manually.
DNS Propagation Time: DNS updates can take up to 24 hours to reflect globally.
Frequently Asked Questions: Custom Domain
1. Do I Need to Use app.mydomain.com?
No, it’s not mandatory to use app.mydomain.com (a subdomain). However, using a subdomain is a recommended practice as it provides greater flexibility and organization for your services.
2. Best Practices for Custom Domains?
- While you can use any subdomain or even your root domain, it's best to reserve the primary domain for your main website or landing page. Here's an example:
- Primary Domain: mydomain.com (for your website or marketing page)
- Custom Subdomain: app.mydomain.com (for your white-labeled platform)
This approach ensures consistent branding while keeping your landing page and application distinct for better organization and user experience.
